It's finally warm enough for the first full hive check of the season. All three hives have overwintered and now it's time to access their health. I'll be looking at the hive's food and pollen stores and the location of the brood nest to determine whether I should feed and switch hive bodies in anticipation to swarming. And as always I'll be looking for my queen and signs of brood (developing bees & eggs). Also, find out what happens when I find my unmarked queen and attempt to mark her...
