#filmphotography #35mm #filmcameraThis Brand New Color Film is Incredible!metal fingers2025-07-16 | Harman Phoenix II is finally here! Having had this film under strict media use only, I'm stoked to finally be able to talk and share my results with you guys. This is BRAND NEW FILM from Harman in both 35mm and 120 formats. Not a remake of their first Phoenix, a complete, from the ground up, new color emulsion from Ilford's sister comany, Harman Photo. While in my intial tests I was underwhelmed, upon shooting more of the film in Wyoming, I ended up really enjoying it, especially the medium format version of the film. Please stick around to the the end to see some of the best photos from the film, I promise it's worth it.

#photography #photographer #filmphotographyDoes Kodak Care About Film Photography...?metal fingers2025-07-13 | Kodak has recently made some huge changes to their cinema film, vision 3 - as well as cutting down on resellers ability to respool their film. Previously, we were able to snatch up vision 3 pretty easily from a variety of different retailers. However, with Kodak making chemical changes to the film itself, would does this mean for us as film photographers and what does it mean for Cinestill? Let's talk about it.

#filmphotography #filmcamera #35mmAre Cameras Simply Just Tools..? #photographymetal fingers2025-07-12 | Todd Hido explains how, much like a paintbrush, the camera is simply a tool to depict a scene. Todd also touches base on how much of his work has been done with film, so finding a camera that keeps the same look, digitally, has been a bit of a process for him. Despite this, Todd continues to make some really, really engaging landscape work, none of which is staged. He is truly the definition of a wandering photographer. He also mentions how he likes to photograph like a documentarian, but print like a painter, which I really like.

Made originally for markets outside of the US, Kodak Pro Image 100 is one of the most versatile, yet budget friendly film stocks. Specifically, Pro Image 100 can handle high temperatures and humid locations all while delivering life like colors, who can't love that? I've only shot a handful of Pro Image 100 rolls, but safe to say I've been quite impressed and am eager to shoot more in the future! #35mm #filmphotography #photographyI Shot the Rollei 35AF.. and I Hated It..?metal fingers2025-05-18 | Or did I? Well.. It's complicated..
The rollei35af is quite an interesting camera. While I love certain aspects of it, I hate other parts of it. While yes, that is a typical thing for many film cameras, with the Rollei 35af, it felt different. While the build quality felt great, it was also it's biggest downfall and why I ended up not really enjoying my time with the camera. Other than that, with loading the camera being the main issue, I overall, did really enjoy the rollei35af otherwise. In a world where new film cameras aren't super abundant, it's great to see MINT stick it's neck out a bit with it's @Rollei35AF project! Sit back, enjoy, and enjoy this pseudo 6 month review of the rollei35af. If you've used the camera, let me know in the comments what you think about it.

Well, I shot some of their 120 film, which just recently came out about a month or so ago, in the San Juan mountains of Colorado, and was honestly really impressed with the results from this new film. Despite it being still a work in progress, it honestly reminded me a lot of a Professional Kodak Color Film, which is a huge compliment to Harman Photo & their film! Great to see a brand new film stock in 2024, and I'm really excited to see where Harman can go from here.

My Go-to Lab: midwestfilmco.comCould 2025 Ruin Film Photography?metal fingers2025-04-27 | With all the new products coming out this year in 2025, the success of them will determine the future of film and film photography. With these companies taking somewhat of a leap, investing into new film photography products, they could potentially spark a film renaissance, creating more hype and buzz around film and film products. If they garner enough success, they could potentially drive Kodak or Fujifilm to create some new, unique, film products. Alternatively, if these products fail, we could be looking at the beginning of the end for film in the digital, modern era. What do you think, is this year as monumental as I make it out to be?

By having a good quality light meter, you can reliably trust that your compositions are coming out as accurately as possible. However, a good light meter can get quite expensive quite quick.
