Fighter ~vs~ Paladin: THAC0 Factor Class Review. Is a mock boxing announcer way of looking at Dungeons & Dragons characters. I was visited by my son Drew and we had a good time just having fun with it. We used the information on these characters out of the 1st edition players handbook, for accuracy. These two characters function much differently than the characters found in MMORPGs. D&D is not like World of Warcraft and other computer based games. They aren't the hack and slash solo wrecking balls everyone expects them to be and require a building process before taking on a direct leadership roll. As a matter of a fact I would recommend not playing a Paladin until you have played both the Fighter and Cleric Classes, to game the required game experience and to understand the mechanics of playing such a demanding character.
