King Sejong Institute, an educational institution established to promote the Korean language and culture worldwide.
The institute holds the 'King Sejong Institute Korean Speaking and Writing Competition' every year to honor the spirit of King Sejong, who created Hangul, together with Korean language learners from around the world.

Just like every other year, preliminary competitions have been held at King Sejong Institutes around the world since May this year. As a result, 222 outstanding learners were invited to Korea. Among them, 10 participants advanced to the 'speaking competition finals.'

From participants who started studying Korean because they love K-POP to those who are diligently studying to read Korean literature in Korean and a learner who aspires to become a Korean trot singer one day.
Here are the global citizens who wish to achieve a new dream through the Korean language.


전 세계에 한국어와 한국문화를 보급하기 위해 운영되는 교육 기관, 세종학당.
세종학당은 한글을 창제한 세종대왕의 뜻을
전 세계 한국어 학습자들과 함께 기리기 위해
매년 ’세종학당 한국어 말하기.쓰기 대회‘를 실시한다.

올해도 지난 5월부터 전 세계 각지 세종학당별로 예선 대회가 열렸고
그 결과 선발된 222명의 우수 학습자가 한국에 초청됐다.
이들 가운데 ’말하기대회 결선‘에 진출한 사람은 10명.

K-POP이 좋아 한국어 공부를 시작하게 됐다는 참가자부터
한국문학을 한국어로 읽기 위해 열심히 공부 중이라는 학습자,
언젠가 한국 트로트가수가 되고 싶다는 사람까지.
한국어를 통해 새로운 꿈을 꾸고 있는 세계인들을 만나본다.
