One of the rare occurences where a fighting game came out in the arcades AFTER its console counterpart. The PS2 version of Soul Calibur III was not a big hit with the competitive scene, due to problems like a glitch called the Variable Cancel where you could cancel out of animations on moves you shouldn't have been able to cancel. I'm not even going to pretend to act like I know everything about this because I didn't play the game, lol. But since this was before fighting games were getting hotfixed and patched into infinity, those glitches weren't going anywhere on the PS2 release. SC3 AE gets rid of the bugs, some unlockable characters were added to the base roster, and a new "Legend" mode was added where you can try to power up a character with your name, a mode that nobody really liked anywhere near as much as Conquest Mode in SC2.
Being that I don't have much experience with this game, I tried to bullshit my way through with legacy knowledge of Sophitia. But I had a few attempts flame out without the clear. On a whim I tried Seung Mina (Seong Mi-Na?), and got the clear on the first try. Alright, cool.
Apparently it's possible to fight a hidden boss called Night Terror in the arcade version, but I didn't get him. Probably for the best.
I'm sorry for the weird beeping and buzzing on some stages, I have no idea what was going on with that.....
