This is a rare vintage 19th-century John Poole “Maker to the Admiralty” marine clock that George, from Texas, sent in for repair. Thank you, George! ❤️

While speaking with George, he shared that his family has deep roots in the Italian shipping industry. On his mother’s side, both his great-grandfather and grandfather were involved in shipping operations in Italy, spanning the era of sailing ships to cargo ships. After his grandfather passed away, the family business continued through George’s uncle in Italy. He also mentioned that his father, while practicing law, was involved in shipbuilding and had a passion for collecting antiques — making this remarkable clock part of a much larger family story tied to maritime history.
