Bike details-

Bajaj Kawasaki Caliber was launched in India from 1998. This motorcycle was based on the previous Bajaj 4S model. Caliber was one those model from the joint force of Japanese mega bike manufacturer Kawasaki and Bajaj Auto Ltd from India. After the intervention of Yamaha and Suzuki on the Indian soil, Kawasaki was the third Japanese company to make motorcycles for Indian market by joining hands with Bajaj. From 1998 Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber was in the market until 2006.

This motorcycle was built around 111.6 cc air cooled 4-stroke engine developed with the help of Kawasaki Japan. Engine is entirely built with aluminium parts. Therefore this bike was renowned for its fuel efficiency and performance. Caliber can cruise to a speed of 95 kmph, easily with its light-weight body components.

The single cylinder engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 7.8 PS @ 7000 rpm and it can attain a peak torque of 8.1 Nm @ 6000 rpm. This engine is mated with a 4-speed manual transmission box. The power is then transmitted to the rear wheels through a chain drive. The simplicity in design and specifications has made this particular Bajaj a best seller in this class during its reign. The design and styling of this motorcycle is basic and little bit dull. It mainly attracted an age group of 30 to 55.

Suspension system of Caliber comprises of a hydraulically damped telescopic with rubber boots front suspension and swing arm hydraulic shock absorber with coaxial 5 step adjustable spring with a double acting suspension at the rear. This would be enough for an 110 cc motorbike on Indian bumpy village roads and city roads. The front and rear braking is monitored by an 110 mm drum brakes.

Kawasaki caliber doesn't have any cosmetic add-ons to mention. It is neat, simple and elegant with some basic sticker graphics in the fuel tank and fenders. This bike features a wheelbase of 1245 mm and a standing height of 1060 mm. The ground clearance of the Caliber is 150 mm with a kerb weight of 116 kg. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 14.0 litres.
