The Heavy Metal Challenge is the SODA series special event races where they mix several classes together like class 4, class 8, class13 and class 3 in massive 19 to 30 truck fields and sense this races where only for bragging rights I included a hypothetical points championship for drivers and manufacturers just for the sake of argument.
To note a quick history of short course off road racing organizations SODA started in the early 70s-1997 then CORR lasted 1998-2008, it split to west coast LOORS 2009-20, & Midwest WSORR 2007-2008 and TORC 2009-2017 Luckily Lucas oil stepped up for the midwest for 2 years 2018-2019 as LOMSCL https://midwestshortcourse.com/events..., and now for 2020 and current a new organization stepped up for the Midwest welcome (C.O.R.)
