Hello Everyone once again! Today in this car commercial of the past, we have a 1993 Nissan Harbody Pickup Truck to show you. The Nissan Hardbody was a pickup truck produced by Nissan from 1985 to 1997 in the North American market that was meant to compete with other small trucks like with it's import rival Toyota's Tacoma, and with some domestic competitors like the Ford F-150 single and extended cab, and Chevrolet S-10.
The base engine offered for the 1993 Nissan Hardbody was a 2.4 Liter, Inline Four Cylinder engine that produced 134 Horsepower, at 5200 RPM with 154 LB-FT of Torque at 3600 RPM. This 4 cylinder engine had good fuel mileage at 23 MPG city, 27 MPG highway in Rear Wheel Drive Format. Fuel mileage dropped when the vehicle is equipped with 4 wheel drive at 18 MPG CIty, 22 MPG highway. The only other engine offered for the Nissan Hardbody was a 3.0 Liter, V6 engine that produced 153 Horsepower at 5,000 RPM, with 182 LB-FT of torque at 4,000 RPM. It produced lower gas mileage than the Inline Four cylinder engine with 19 MPG city, 23 MPG highway.
Two transmissions were offered for the Nissan Hardbody. A 5 speed manual with overdrive was offered for the base models, and a 4 speed automatic with overdrive was offered as an option.
Two trim levels were offered with two different body styles. There was the base trim that offered manual everything on the truck, such as manual windows, and manual transmission, and there was the trim that was a notch above the base trim, which was the SE trim model and offered power windows and a V6 engine as standard equipment. The two body styles offered; a regular single cab that fitted 3 people on a bench seat, and an extended cab that fit 3 people on a bench seat, and two people uncomfortably in the small space behind it on jump seats.
The base 2 door standard cab with the 4 cylinder in Rear Wheel Drive layout had a price of $9,270 brand new. The base 2 door standard cab with the 4 cylinder and with Four wheel drive had a price of $13,125 brand new. The two door, V6 standard cab in Rear Wheel Drive layout had a price of $11,225 brand new.
A neatly styled, imported pickup truck, offered in two different body styles, combined with Japanese reliability and quality, made the Nissan Hardbody a good choice for a small sized pickup truck, if you were in the market for one back in 1993.
