IBM Computers: AS/400. The following is an exceptionally good IBM announcement about release of 11 new AS/400 processors. The AS/400 was IBM's most successful minicomputer family. Introduced in 1988, IBM upgraded and improved the 400 line many times since then. This original IBM film runs about 8 minutes and highlights the availability of many new sizes of AS/400 processors available. The 400 was a replacement for the System/36 and System/38 computers. IBM sold over 100,000 by 1990 and ultimately sold over 500,000 systems by the end of 1997. (Film courtesy of IBM Archives)
