Here's a brief video of Silver Slugger, manufactured by Gottlieb/Premier in 1990.
Three spinners and a vari-target make this game very fun and interesting. It makes excellent use of flashers and lighting and plays quite fast. There's a fair number of random aspects to the scoring, which makes this game less appealing to hardcore 'players', but it's great fun trying to score runs and smoke the vari-target during multi-ball for the Grand Slam.
This was the first of Gottlieb's "street level" games which were an attempt to make less expensive, less complicated and easier to understand pinball machines.
This game was designed by John Trudeau and was one of his last designs for Gottlieb before leaving for Bally/Williams.
This was one of the first games based on the Gottlieb System 3 hardware platform.
