These early MIJ Squier Fenders were handbuilt by Fujigen for Fender and many are prized for their quality of craftsmanship. However, in the world of guitars, not all are equal, but this one is exceptional.
The luthier who prepared it for us had this to say about the neck: "This is a rare neck that feels amazing" - more detail below.
The radius measures smaller than 7.25. Whilst this is uncommon it's not unheard for guitars from this period from Japan as all the necks are hand finished rather than machined. This, coupled with years of play and potential fretboard edge rolling has tightened the radius slightly smaller than the Fender vintage spec of 7.25".
It's Super Vintage if you like. What this means from a player's perspective is that you get super comfortable open chord positions especially if you prefer to fret using the thumb over "Hendrix style" technique.
