Under the hood sits the factory-correct 5.7-Liter 350 cu. in. L81 V8 engine, rated at 190 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Featuring GM’s Computer Command Control (CCC) system, Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor, magnesium valve covers, and factory stainless steel exhaust headers, this 350 runs smooth and delivers classic V8 sound through its dual-outlet exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-Speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission equipped with a lockup torque converter for efficient highway cruising.
Handling remains tight and responsive thanks to Corvette’s four-wheel independent suspension—utilizing lightweight composite rear leaf springs—paired with direct-acting hydraulic shocks and a front anti-roll bar. Stopping power is delivered reliably by standard 4-wheel power disc brakes featuring 4-piston calipers at all four corners. The car rides on classic 15x8-inch cast-aluminum wheels wrapped in white-letter radial tires.
