Your favorite Nintendo game is locked and loaded, and later you plan to pop John Carpenter's 'The Thing' into the VCR. Your best friend is sleeping over, and you're enjoying Cokes and chips, the sugar buzz carrying you through the night.

For those who lived through the 80s, what's one thing that seemed so small or unimportant then, but now, when you look back, you realize was pretty awesome?
