Now that I've finally got it running well, here's a brief video of my 1972 Gottlieb Grand Slam in action. This is a tough game to score well on. It's a moderately fun-ish game, but truthfully there's not much to shoot for. The kick-out holes tend to get in the way and make for some pretty unpredictable ball travel. Still, loading the bases and hitting home runs is fairly satisfying and roto-targets are fun and interesting even if the machine on the whole is kinda ho-hum.

The cabinet on this particular machine has artwork that differs from that of every other Grand Slam I've seen. Most would say it's definitely been repainted, but the paint job is extremely well-done and looks like it came from the factory that way. I've wondered if the game was transplanted into a different cabinet for some reason. But the instructional cards stapled inside the head and cabinet all refer to Grand Slam and I've never seen this paint job on any other machine, so I really have no idea why the usual artwork is absent and there's stars in its place.
Anyway, not a great wedgehead from the early '70's, but not a horrible one either. Enjoy!
