The Gibson Killer V the Killer Gibson, the Yamaha SG V the Gibson Les Paul! Which is better? Which do you prefer? All subjective, of course. I own a 1979 Yamaha SG1000 and a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard and I've played both live and recorded with both - not at the same time, obv!

Here's what I think of those two guitars and how they compare.

Spoiler: They're both great guitars! For me, I would have specific uses for each of them.
