Major League Baseball's spring training will be coming to a close soon and Opening Day will be upon us in no time. This excerpt from a 1963 David Brinkley's Journal gives us a little taste of what it was like to be working your way up to the big league. Major League Baseball farm teams didn't make much money for their teams, but they did cultivate and shape young talent with the help of former big league stars.
