Like most of us, I'm a victim of my television obsessions -- and while I don't watch a TON of TV I do have my favorites: the Walking Dead, True Blood, Supernatural, Californication, Days of Our Lives and -- of course -- Mad Men.
Fans of Mad Men should already be well aware that the new season is premiering THIS SUNDAY on AMC! I'm excited, you're excited, and we're all excited.
Since this year's Estée Lauder Mad Men review didn't include a makeup tutorial like last year, I thought it would be fun to do a 1960's inspired tutorial as a premiere party contribution for the new season!
Here's the kicker though: as I was researching what look I was going to do, what part of the 60's I was going to pull inspiration from, etc. I stumbled upon something more exciting than I could have ever imagined and certainly more authentic than anything I'd EVER be able to cook up!
What I found was an actual training video from the VERY early 1960's on how to apply makeup for the office! The coolest part about this though?! It stars none other than our very own Doris Cordon Blue (some of you may remember from the Christmas cocktails video in December). To my knowledge, Doris' only experience in cinema was a brief stint in a string of 1970's 8mm, low-budget, semi-biographical, pornographic films!
So please enjoy this rare treat. Turn the lights down low, grab some popcorn and turn off your cell phone -- unless you're watching this on your cell phone in which case, leave it on or you'll miss the film.
