Dozens of musicians, songwriters, bluegrass bands, have taken my old clog dance film and made their own music videos out of it. Of course each of them makes a license agreement with me. And each group has been unique in what they do with my clog dance film, how they put their personal stamp on it.

This bluegrass band from Australia, The Black Sorrows got everything just right. The timing. Editing back-and-forth between my footage more than 59 years old and their new footage. A superb job all around.

I have watched the scene that I filmed when I was 23 years old in 1965 100s of times. And each time I enjoy it. Each time it gives me the feeling that I had when I was in that room with those dancers, having never seen anything like that before, and I just took my camera and started to dance with them. What a wonderful feeling then. What a wonderful feeling now when I watch what The Black Sorrows created.

The Black Sorrows is an Australian blues and roots band formed in 1983 by Joe Camilleri, a veteran musician known for his work with Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons. The band is renowned for its eclectic mix of blues, R&B, and rock, often incorporating elements of soul and gospel into their sound.

The Black Sorrows gained popularity with their energetic live performances and unique sound. They released their debut album, "Sonola", in 1984, which featured a mix of original songs and covers. The band's breakthrough came with their fourth studio album, "Hold On to Me", released in 1988. The album included hit singles like "Chained to the Wheel" and "The Crack-Up", which received significant airplay and charted well in Australia.

The Black Sorrows are known for their ability to blend different musical styles seamlessly. Their sound is deeply rooted in blues and R&B, but they often incorporate elements of rock, soul, and gospel.

The Black Sorrows have continued to release new music and perform live well into the 21st century. They remain a popular live act, known for their energetic performances and musical prowess. The band released their latest album, "Saint Georges Road", in 2021, which received positive reviews and demonstrated their continued relevance in the music scene.

The Black Sorrows have left an indelible mark on the Australian music landscape. Their ability to evolve and adapt while staying true to their roots has earned them a lasting legacy. Joe Camilleri's contributions to music, both as a member of The Black Sorrows and through his other projects, have cemented his status as a significant figure in Australian music history.
