What happens when you pair an all-original 1960 Fender Tweed Bassman with a quartet of vintage Jensen P10Q 10" speakers also dating to 1960?
In this video, we're finding out!
For this brand-new collection, I went back to my incredible 1960 Tweed Bassman and captured it through these vintage 1960 Jensen P10Qs — a much more period-correct pairing for this legendary amplifier and one that produced some absolutely beautiful results.
I captured both the Normal and Bright channels across seven different volume settings — 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 12 — giving us 14 Tone Models covering everything from big, warm Tweed cleans and touch-sensitive edge-of-breakup tones through to the rich, harmonically complex overdrive these old Bassmans are famous for.
This really feels like the perfect match for this amp, and in this video we'll take a listen through the entire range of tones and hear exactly what this very special 1960 amp and speaker combination has to offer.
