We enjoyed a preview event at our 1950s welfare hall yesterday for many of the people involved in the project! In amongst all of the celebrations, we spoke with our Director, Richard Evans, about the welfare hall and our Remaking Beamish project.
The Leasingthorne Colliery Welfare Hall and Community Centre, the first building in our 1950s Town - opens this Saturday!

Thanks to the money raised by National Lottery players, the Remaking Beamish project has been awarded £10.9m by The National Lottery Heritage Fund
