What's with the illustration here? It's an alarm box. One of those "In case of emergency, break glass" alarm boxes. On it, it says Fire & Police. So.. someone has smashed the glass on it and there is a loud bell or siren, emanating from it. as the police and fire departments are on their way. All to tell you it's time for your warranty service? Sounds a little over-the-top to me. Still, how would YOU illustrate the concept of taking your car in for warranty service? Not so easy, is it? You see, sticking appropriate graphics on things is not as easy as some people think. I mean, look, as I am prattling on about this, what should the graphic be in this video? These things don't create themselves, you know. This is not artificial intelligence, people. In fact, there's very little intelligence in anything I do. And how do you illustrate THAT. Well, I guess I just did. Pause the video and think about that awhile. Or... not.
Chief Pontiac is featured on the card. "Pontiac Authorized Service." The chief here, who appears to be going about 65 miles an hour, was Pontiac's logo since the beginning of the brand, in 1926 all the way up till 1959, when he was retired and THIS logo replaced him. Of all the native American symbols used in branding and advertising, I always thought depictions of Chief Pontiac for the automobile brand, were uncompromisingly dignified. I don't think the chief was retired for the same reasons Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben were retired, but I don't really know. These things happen for reasons I probably can't understand. Anyway, I'm happy to report that the chief is happily retired, along with the others I mentioned, at the Villages in Florida.
