Week one of Rocket Summer focusing on the April 1939, edition of Amazing Stories, produced by the legendary editor Hugo Gernsback. The pulp is a time capsule of pre-war angst and intrigue. As World War 2 loomed on the horizon, the original SF pulp magazine, Amazing Stories, cranked out SF stories for diversion. But couldn't escape pervasive war fears as Hitler put the gears of conflagration in motion.
