Discover the dramatic history of the SS Nornen shipwreck, resting on the mudflats of Berrow Beach in Somerset!

In March 1897, a fierce south-westerly gale swept up the Bristol Channel, driving the Norwegian three-masted barque onto the sands. Thanks to the incredible bravery of the Burnham lifeboat crew (John Godfrey Morris), all 10 crew members—and their dog—were rescued without a single loss of life.

Today, the weathered wooden frame ("bones") of the ship can still be seen during low tide, offering a incredible glimpse into maritime history.
