It's my birthday today, and also near the end of 2018, so i thought i would do a video about life lessons i have learnt and embodied from the last year. 2018 has been one of the toughest years I’ve ever had, with lots of things happening. Throughout the chaos, when I thought things weren’t going to get better, these tips and things I’d learnt helped me through it. There are some cliché general ones about your mind-set and there are random ones that are more of my life hacks, like Amazon Prime. Random, i know haha!! Overall I hope you take away some of the points I raise and implement them into your life, I know I will. Thanks for watching, and I hope you’ve all had a merry Christmas and are getting ready for the new year. 2019’s gonna be a good one I hope!!
– This year I learnt that it’s more important to spend time with people you love and make memories that you’ll treasure forever, like wolacombe and centre parts for me.
– I can notice a huge difference in my overall mood when I’m with people who are just happy to have you as company. It just makes for a positive atmosphere, find people who bring that.
– Taking initiative in my life has made me a lot more content. If I want to have a chill day watching Netflix.Do what makes you happy, it’s your life.
– I believe that everything happens for a reason. Now I’m not saying give up if something’s not going your way momentarily, just remember to be patient.
– It’s important to have a ‘person’, someone you CAN talk to too, for me its my GP. She is so special to me, and i wouldn’t be here today without out, find people you can confide in.
– For me this relates to more materialistic things, such as lens', because they're expensive. Make sure it meets your criteria.
– I have always been a perfectionsist for as long as I can remember, and it’s been a real pain in the ass. But after therapy, I’ve become better at accepting that as long as I try my best, that’s good enough.
- The world is so fascinating to me, and I want to try to learn and see as much of it as possible. I need to spend going to the woods and the beach, as they’re near me.
– This sounds obvious, but I included it because I found that certain foods impacted my body more than others, such as gluten. Everyone’s different.
– Because of my chronic fatigue, standing for a while can be tiring, so laying in a bath helps helps my aches and helps me sleep better.
– I was always so worried that I would let people and myself down, but the fact I even completed my a levels was a huge achievement. Moral of the story, don’t be defeated if you don’t get the grades you desire, you can still be successful.
– When volunteering at Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, I work with dogs, and even though they have come from different circumstances, some difficult and upsetting, they are all so loving and trusting. It’s truly amazing.
– Everything is on there. And with next day delivery, you never need to worry about last minute presents, amazon’s got you covered.
– As long as you are happy and content in your life and what your doing, nothing should stand in your way. Just be confident in yourself, you are a boss ass bitch!!
– This time last year I was at my lowest, and it really showed me that mental illness and suicide is something I was more at risk to. Always reach out, Positive Steps was a great help for me.
– Some people will always stay mean, and the quicker you accept that, the quicker you can cut those toxic people out of your life. You deserve better, know your worth.
– Having things to look forward to can help you become less apprehensive about the future. I was worried about life after college, but I got myself a job, also a volunteer position, and have travel goals to help me stay motivated.
– My plan was to rest for a while after college, because 18 years in education, well 15 actually, is A LOT. But both my job opportunities came and I carpe diem’d and jumped at the opportunity.
