Why is it that when I'm not trying to pick a lock quickly they open faster than when I actually am?

In this video I'm picking a small Brinks padlock using a homemade .047" top of the keyway tension wrench and a Peterson Hooked Diamond AKA a DeForest Diamond. I'm am not sponsored or in any way affiliated with Peterson I just wanted people to know which tools I'm using.
