The Volvo XC90 has long been seen as the ultimate family car. A huge 7 seat SUV that offers everything a large family would ever want... HOWEVER! in this video we show how it fails families with young children. This is the mk2 facelift T8 hybrid, which claims to achieve over 170 mpg but we put it to the test on a real world family road trip and encounter some shocking outcomes. These failures are not Volvo specific and many other large SUVs lack practicality in this way but I also show solutions and why a PHEV like this with 40 miles of range will in fact be perfect for daily family life.
