Arts University Plymouth marks its 170th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1856 as the Plymouth Drawing School, our story begins with a working port city investing in drawing, design and skilled making.

Across generations, the institution has changed in name, scale and campus, but its purpose has stayed firm: a rigorous, practice-led education that turns ideas into work, and work into impact, for Plymouth and beyond.
