A project update video of this 1/6th scale US Tokyo Ordnance M4A3E4 Sherman tank. The base model is a 1/6th scale rotomolded plastic M4A3 sherman tank hull and turret from James DeSimone / Plastic Panzers. This unit was rereleased by Mr. DeSimone back in 2003 and the unstarted model was sitting in my stash for about 10 years. This build will be a series that will follow this model from start to finish. Along the way I will be describing the tricks to build the model, the components used to detail the model further, and facts / traits found on the real vehicle.
In this video I continue with the build fabricating the lower hull, rear plate, skinning the side hull sections, front hull plate, and adding internal bulk heads to make the model more ridgid.
