Going to the western portion of the Mountaintops of the Giants eastern' half, you'll find a large castle sitting atop a cliff ridge. While its about the size of other ruined castles and keeps throughout the lands, there are mostly wolves, holy knights, and talon-equipped birds throughout. Work your way through it and you'll get to Captain Niall - one of the hardest bosses in the game. Defeating him gives access to the roof of the castle where half of Rold's Secret Medalion lies for the Haeligtree and Consecrated Snowfield.
As a larger sword + bleed user with Bloodhoung Fang +9, Skeleton Militiamen +10 and heavier armor, I found it tricky to dodge his incredibly powerful moves without fully running out of flasks. Upon summoning, you can take out the righthand knight (our right, his left) with the spear first as he's aggressive. Ensure the knight turns toward you rather than dodging in with summons to get killed from all three enemies.
You can do a couple hits on Niall to work his HP bar down a bit if possible as anything above 50% is free game before he auto transitions to phase 2 upon killing both guard knights.
From here, you have to just time your moves and keep distance for his large ice and lighting windups at point blank and I believe, roll forward and to the side for his very strong leg slam down. If you dodge the combo he'll briefly exhaust himself which you can do a critical hit against him, or continue to wail and chip away.
Not the worst fight ever for me but definitely many hours and probably a couple hundred attempts. If you enter the castle site of grace, turn left, run under the overhead wooden bridge, remember to pull the elevator lever and it'll take you up to the throne area. There is no Shrine of Marika nearby, making the runback quite a pain even if it's enemy-free.
