Thames Foreshore Finds TFF held a photograph

competition in September 2023 entitled,

RIVER THAMES: END OF SUMME
The competition was open to all members of the

group and it was sponsored by REGTON,

with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Guidelines:

- Photos must show the River Thames.

- Entries deadline:
Sunday, 29th October (British Summer Time Ends).

- TFF Admin Team judged the photos and selected 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners.

- Award of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes took place on Sunday, 3rd December at the Old Thameside Inn, London.

We also had the pleasure to have

fellow mudlark Graham DuHeaume

joining us on the day.

Graham has been a Thames mudlark

since the 1970s.

His experience and knowledge with

knives and blades (and their marks)

found on the foreshore of the

River Thames throughout the years,

led him to publish the catalogue

"The Queenhithe Collection".

I took the oportunity to bring along

a few of my Thames finds

to show Graham.

Graham kindly offered to take

my finds for analysis and

cleaning for a better preservation.

Some of the ivory and bone handles,

and blades, have been identified as

late Medieval and post Medieval.

I'm pleased to say that,

since the production of this video,

Graham has been in touch,

and sent me a few photos.

He has even managed to join one

of the handles and blades.

And the year 2023 brought some TOP finds from some of our members.

Here are some of the best finds from our TOP contributors.
