This was the second most runs scored by a team in one inning in modern baseball history; the Boston Red Sox had scored 17 runs in the seventh inning vs. the Detroit Tigers on June 18, 1953. Way back in 1883, the Chicago White Stockings scored 18 runs in one inning vs. the Detroit Wolverines.
