Educators worldwide have enjoyed success with the renowned 16 Habits of Mind, created 30 years ago by Dr. Art Costa and Dr. Bena Kallick of the Global Institute for Habits of Mind.

The 16 Habits of Mind demonstrate learning skills that have been proven to aid students with emotional regulation, resulting in their ability to become familiar with utilizing mental health skills in their everyday life.

When children learn to respond with wonderment and awe, they develop curiosity, appreciation, and a love for discovery. Taking time to notice the beauty and excitement in everyday moments helps them stay engaged, inspired, and open to new ideas. Encouraging this habit doesn’t just spark joy—it fosters creativity, gratitude, and a lifelong passion for learning.
