A police bust netted more than a dozen arrests, 10 kilograms of cocaine and mushrooms, and nearly five dozen guns as part of an investigation that spanned a year and a half and extended across multiple southern Manitoba communities.

Thirteen people have been charged with a total of 67 drug and gun trafficking offences after property searches in 10 different communities over the past month as part of an operation called Project Dolor, according to Manitoba RCMP.

"We did make a definite dent," Supt. Jeff Asmundson said at a news conference Tuesday in Winnipeg. "There will be other traffickers [who] will try to fill that void, because there is a demand, but I think we ... made a definite impact."
