Today we test the budget friendly Samick Forumula electric guitar ($140) up against the legendary Paul Reed Smith SC-58 ($4100)... let's jam!

The story behind the guitars...
My parents bought me the red Samick when I was in high school (my first electric guitar) and I was PUMPED! I did a lot of growing, floundering, writing, & jamming on that guitar! I played in my first band and recorded my first songs with that guitar. Then after 9+ years of playing (and while taking steps towards making music part of my career) my dad shocked(!) me with the blue PRS as a gift. He said it was an "investment" intended to help me reach the next level as a musician and aspiring studio owner. I was in my mid 20's when he gave me the PRS and now I look back to that moment 7+ years ago and I have to smile, as I now have the beautiful privilege of running a local recording studio and training thousands of students online. Thanks Dad.
