ABOUT THIS VIDEO
In this video, I share 13 common American slang phrases and how to use them. These are phrases that I use every day in casual conversation.
Most English learners learn simple phrases to respond to questions and express their ideas. The problem is that native speakers often use phrases that are more colloquial and less formal.
I made this video so you can feel more comfortable expressing yourself in American English. If you would like me to continue making videos on this topic (or if you have other video suggestions) please let me know in the comments.
Here are the phrases we cover in the video, along with their meanings:
- It's all good (it's ok)
- No worries. (Don't worry, it's OK)
- Sure thing (Yes. Absolutely. Of course)
- For sure (Yes, Absolutely. Of course.)
- I'm good (No thank you. I don't want what you are offering)
- I got this/I got it (I can handle this, I don't need help)
- Will do (Ok, yes, agreed)
- No way (I can't believe it. That's awesome!)
- That sucks (That's awful... I'm sorry to hear that)
- For real? (Is that so?) (Really? Seriously?)
- What the heck? (I'm not OK with this situation. I don't like this situation.)
- Nice! (that's cool, that's awesome, that's interesting)
- Got it (I understand)
