The Ultion is a very good lock. But it behaves very, very strangely and while it may be excellent against drilling and snapping attacks, it is ridiculously easy to pick and in my view this makes a mockery of its three star security rating. In addition, its online marketing material makes some very odd claims. I make some educated guesses as to why this might be.

A really good Swedish lock, kind of an Assa Twin lite, with four slider element sidebar and security pins.

Bit of a long one and the disassembly is only really included to prove that I picked all the elements.
This is the first time Ive had this lock open and didnt pick at all like I expected, but a methodical approach nailed it in the end.
Theres a lot of interest in this lock and so Ill do a whole lot more videos on the MT5+ later, discussing whats happening inside them, why theyre difficult to pick, and how to beat them.")

Sparrows have very kindly responded to the criticisms and suggestions; they suggest learning to use the set in a slightly different way to a normal pick and wrench. I was pleased with their reply, it makes sense.

Hey Michael
Just watched the video - feed back always appreciated.
I would like you to try a slightly different technique with the mace.
When using the mace as a tension bar use it at the bottom of the keyway with pick going up.
That gets the tail completely out of the way.
If you watch this video you will see how we line it up(time 0:46)

The short hook - in the mace set it is hard to single pin pick without levering off the base of the lock.
You just dont have enough to hold onto compared with a standard pick where you can lift.
For that reason ... it needs a thicker bridge. That levering style is very hard on picks

The Millenco Magnum is a very complex, but not very secure lock. You dont want it on your door - speak to your locksmith and spend the extra 20 pounds to buy something better quality. But as a lock to learn dimple picking and sidebar picking...its great.")
