Dreamworks have spent a long time Dream Working on some massive films. But did you know about some of these little-known secrets down at DreamWorks HQ?! And we aren’t just talking about where they keep Michael Meyers when they aren’t cranking out another Shrek film. Oh no, we’re talking about things such as how Megamind wasn’t originally going to be the only supervillain in his titular film. Or how The animals from Over The Hedge must have learned how to be criminals from the crew of the film! Apparently, the art department got kicked out of a convenience store while “researching” the vending machine robbery sequence, having spent far too long looking at a machine, raising the suspicion of workers at the store.
Crime doesn’t pay, but making movies certainly does.
Point is, there is a lot that goes into making movies like those produced by Dreamworks. Whether it's animating the stop motion chickens for the seminal classic Chicken Run, or taking out a hippo in order to provide background decoration for scenes within a movie about training dragons in medieval viking villages, there are a lot of little things that you might not know about these iconic animated features.
