Defcon Open Source Digital Radio Showcase and RockSat-X Launch
Michelle and Paul reported on their successful participation in the Defcon hacker conference in Las Vegas, where they demonstrated several open-source radio projects including Locutus modem, Interlocutor human-radio interface, Ribbit Radio, RFBitBanger, and synthetic aperture radar using GNU Radio and Pluto SDR. The team staffed two tables for 20 hours over three days with a crew of four volunteers, and received positive feedback on their accessible radio products, particularly Interlocutor. They also discussed a recent successful RockSat-X launch with the University of Puerto Rico.
