Another great lock from Randy Perkins, a standard Scandinavian profile that picks like a challenge lock.
These 7 pin Biltema locks are relatively common in Scandinavia and are based on an old Assa design. The Scandinavian oval profile looks similar to the 570 we are used to in New Zealand and Australia but is much larger, and is not compatible with anything in common use in our part of the world.

I dont really like locks with active elements on the key because I think in general theyre more complex than they need to be.
This Mauer one though is VERY well engineered (the whole lock just screams German precision and quality) and it manages to do a lot, with a little.
This is also a test video, Im playing with different cameras, mics, angles, and editing software.

The Marks Hi-Security is based on the Assa Twin - six spools plus a five pin sidebar. Its a great lock to pick - lots of feedback from the gin bottle spools and the sidebar adds a challenge. If you can find one, buy it.")

Law Lock Tools in the UK is making some fantastic picks. This video looks at their main kit - the Increment Pro kit, plus the smaller Tipene Hooks, and also briefly touches on the Nessie rakes.
These picks were clearly designed with the working locksmith or law enforcement practitioner in mind and have a solid, no nonsense approach to their construction. The handles in particular are almost indestructible and provide excellent feedback but are definitely more suited to picking locks in a pins up configuration, like Europrofile locks. Versions more suited to hobbyists are in development.

The Locxis is the poor cousin to the Mul-T-Lock Interactive. It has two interactive chambers...but that doesnt help its security much. I would not buy this lock, you should buy the MTL Interactive instead. Part 2 will be a tutorial on how to pick this lock - its an easy lock to beat.")

First pick of this interesting Chinese lock, as far as I know. Its a six pin in pin, (of which two outers are set by active elements on the key) plus a four slider sidebar. A quick look at the key will reveal that its an attempt at cloning the Mul-T-Lock MT5+ - more homage than copy really - but with much poorer manufacturing tolerances and overall poorer quality. Still, its the best Chinese lock Ive seen in a while and in my view they got it half right. Its also sometimes known as a Five Colours Lock but is considerably different to other locks of this name from the same manufacturer.")
