BMS stands for "Battery Management System". I'm installing the first BMS for the lithium Smart Fortwo EV battery. This BMS is rated for 100 amps and seems to have all the needed functions. There is a bluetooth dongle which allows monitoring of the cells with an app on your phone. The BMS allows me to change parameters to suit my battery, and even has some amount of balancing available.
This video is part of a series. I am re-purposing an old electric vehicle battery for use in my off-grid solar house. I'm making this battery into a large 48 volt pack. The battery is arranged 14s, meaning 14 cells in series.
