Over four days, we're going from Greater London to Wales, and back, travelling a bit more than 1000km (670 miles). Although we're now well used to using our small battery EV (23kWh usable from 100% to 10%) in France, the quality of the UK charging infrastructure is questionable. Is it good enough to take us to Wales and back without hassle or wait? Is it good enough to do day travels and recharge in a relative remote area ie the Snowdonia national park and despite having no destination charger at our place of stay? We take our Hyundai Ioniq 'classic' and we go find out. We also record all the details so you have everything you may need to know, how much battery is used, how much it costs, how long it takes to recharge, what is the cost of 'fuel' per 100 km, how hot does the battery get when it charges, etc...
In this first part, we just travel from London to our destination, planning two simple stops along the motorway with ABRP.
