The unprecedented deluge of ice, rock, and mud on the Nepal-China border on Wednesday (August 26) has inundated several hydropower projects under construction, leaving hundreds trapped inside.

Rescue operations are now underway at five hydroelectric projects, including a major effort at the Upper Trishuli complex.

Specialist teams from China and India have also been deployed to assist with rescue efforts.
