POST NOTE: Remove the blocks above the stems, they prevent the plants from growing! Also, hold shift/sneak to place items on top of the hoppers.

This design is incredibly simple and efficient, There are NO bud switches and no glitches of any kind that might cause the design to ever fail. You can get all the melons you will ever need from one of each because, lets face it, if it's harvesting on it's own it will fill up pretty quick.

You can modify the collection end point as you like, but this seemed adequate for my liking.
