1. Review your last 3 months bank statements to understand your income and expenses. Determine how much you make, how much you spend, and how much you keep.
2. Determine how much cash from what you keep you want to put towards your precious metals stack ($500 example). Keep a cash buffer in your bank checking account for life.
3. Set an annual goal and start with the end in mind. How much Silver or Gold can you reasonably stack without compromising other important aspects of your life? In this example, let's assume 100 ounces of Silver per year.
4. Break that larger goal down into more manageable slices. If your goal is 100 ounces of Silver. Buy a single 10-ounce silver bar each month and save the leftover cash in an envelope. Take 2 months off to enjoy life. Buy something nice for yourself, put it toward debt or save the cash for a future purchase.
5. Set a schedule each month when you will make your purchase. Dollar-cost averaging has been shown to beat timing the market and comes with much less stress. Avoid FOMO by buying consistently. Remember, discipline beats motivation!
Once you develop these habits and can stack without impacting the other important aspects of your life, you can reduce your expenses and increase your income to stack more weight, more quickly over time. Don't be in a hurry. Gold and Silver are not going away. Build the right habits and enjoy the ride! Stay within your budget. Keep it simple. Don't FOMO!
