đĄ Iâm willing to bet that âouiâ is one of the very first words that you learned in French, right? Good! Itâs important to be able to say âyesâ in every language you plan to speak, as well as understand when someone else is speaking affirmatively.
But⊠âouiâ will only get you so far if you hope to understand everyday French conversations. Of course we say âouiâ a lot in French; but we also say more than a dozen other words to express ourselves when we want to say âyesâ.
The same thing happens in English â or whatever your native language may be. You might say âof courseâ, âokayâ, or âabsolutelyâ. The same is true in French! Letâs go over some of the most common ways to say âyesâ in French (without saying âouiâ) so you can express yourself differently AND better understand everyday French conversations.
