Creepiest / scariest sound 10: Thunderbolt tornado siren
The Federal Signal Thunderbolt series of emergency sirens were originally commissioned for use in the event of nuclear war, which is scary enough. Later on, they were repurposed for usage during tornadoes and air raids. The recording used here was audio of a Thunderbolt siren going off as an F3 tornado struck McConnell Air Force Base / AFB in Kansas on April 26, 1991, during a tornado outbreak that day. That tornado in question would become an F5 tornado only minutes later.
