Was unsure of whether to post this one, but here's some thoughts I had after a year being in the animation industry. This is aimed at those thinking of getting into animation or wondering what it's like. Please be aware this is from my point of view alone, and I do not speak for everyone in the industry of course. I've only been working for a year, all in the same studio, so my POV is very small. I just wanted to talk about how I've found my first year and what it's been like. Sorry if I rambled on a lot, I had to cut a bunch out of this because I waffle like crazy.
It's been an experience with highs and lows just like anything, and even though I spent years expecting it, it still wasn't what I expected. The creative industry is a strange beast, but an exciting one. If you're looking into getting into the industry yourself, it's tricky to get your foot in the door, don't be disheartened if it doesn't work out right away.
