In December 2020, Antifa barricaded off a few blocks of Northern Portland, in hopes of preventing police from evicting the Kinney family. I saw it for myself just 3 days before it was dismantled.
There wasn't any violence, but there easily could have been. I saw people with body armor, assault rifles, paintball guns, bear spray. Despite all that, it felt relatively safe.
