Watching relaxing nature videos is a great way to unwind after a stressful day. Many people find that they are able to calm their minds by watching scenes like this which helps them focus without letting their cares and worries overwhelm them. Ocean wave scenes are especially popular and many find that they even help them overcome insomnia. Try watching an ocean wave scene like this one before bed time and you will see how the endless mesmerizing rows of curling and crashing waves, rumbling ocean sounds, and washing movements on the beach lull you to sleep. This technique has helped many people go to sleep fast and I continue to receive feedback to that effect on many of my wave videos.

This is quite a dramatic scene compared to most videos tagged with "relaxing ocean waves" but for many the big waves crashing and rough surf conditions inspire awe and can be appreciated for their raw beauty. There is tremendous energy heaving these big waves forward and one can't help but marvel at the evidence of this unseen force of nature. Watch this video when you need to focus, study, meditate and even sleep. Watching nature ambiance videos like this one is quite mesmerizing and you may find that you forget the stresses that have been keeping you awake and it could make you fall asleep fast. It could even be used as white noise as ocean sounds are great for blocking out background noise and city sounds.

I filmed this relaxing ocean scene along the Western Cape coast, South Africa. I love how turbulent the water gets in this area with waves crashing into the cliffs and charging back out to meet the incoming swell. It can be difficult to predict what direction the waves will take and sometimes reflecting waves are big enough to change the course of the incoming ones.

I filmed this relaxing ocean scene near Betty's Bay, South Africa. I love how the kelp looks alive in the swirling water... looks like the water is teaming with strange sea monsters flopping around :) Definitely the kind of place you could expect a mermaid to sit right?
The sounds of the waves and lapping water around the rocks was also perfect at this spot and should really help you to feel that you are right there with me.

I filmed this relaxing beach scene in The Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park, South Africa. I love the fresh aquamarine color of the water and the soft light of the misty morning. I filmed this ocean wave scene at one of my favorite wave watching sites. The ocean floor rises quite steeply so incoming waves crest and curl beautifully and quite close to shore. There are many cross currents which interfere with incoming waves and create some added interest which I love. I filmed this at sunrise, so you will notice that the sun is just peeping over the mountain behind the camera and illuminating the wave crests at times. The scene lights up more towards the second half of the video, but throughout the 1 hour recording, you will notice subtle changes in light due to the mist spilling over the mountain. The air was quite foggy over the sea which created lovely soft pastel shades. This is a super relaxing scene with nice big booming waves that are both lazy and powerful.
Suggestion: Enjoy these videos when you have the time, and even when you're busy. I love playing them in the background while I cook, read, study or do other chores. I find it very relaxing as I imagine living next to the sea. Many people also like to fall asleep to nature sounds, or watch videos like this before going to sleep to help them relax. You could also play these while meditating... nature sounds and scenes like this one are great to watch or listen to as a meditation aid. This one has it all... stunning ocean waves curling, breaking and crashing with great sounds of the ocean. You will also hear other nature sounds, especially if you have a good sound system or listen with quality earphones.

I filmed this just after sunrise at Diaz Beach, Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope) South Africa. The area's other name is The Cape of Storms which it often lives up to with very strong wind blowing almost year-round. It's a rugged windswept landscape with some of the highest sea cliffs in the world. Cape Point is one of my favorite places to visit because of it's dramatic landscapes and rugged beauty. I plan to film quite a few more scenes here so if you like this one, let me know and I will make a plan to get out there again soon.

I'm so glad the video reproduced the variety of ripples and reflections so accurately. There are quickly repeating ripples from the breeze, criss-crossing random ripples from refraction, circular expanding ripples from popping bubbles, washing from small waves making it over the boundary rocks, reflections from passing clouds dancing on the surface and shimmering sunlight. Nature has so much beauty crammed into every inch... it's only when we stop and patiently observe that we truly see and know it.

Search tags: water sounds, sounds of water, nature scene meditation, Peaceful Scenes, nature relaxation, beautiful waterfalls, relaxing, relaxationBeautiful stream - 1 hour HD - sounds of water flowing - birds singing - relaxing nature soundsPeaceful Scenes2015-09-09 | This is the first in a series of relaxing water meditation videos designed to be without distraction. The focus of the scene is entirely on the flow of water and natural sounds which help connect the viewer to the scene. This is achieved through careful scene selection, video editing and sound engineering.
The video can be used as a meditation aid, played in the background when reading, working, studying or simply relaxing after a long day. Many people enjoy watching nature scenes when they are stressed, can't focus or have insomnia. Others who suffer from tinnitus also benefit when playing natural sounds as background "white noise". You could even play this at work during your break if you need a moment of calm.
Water has always been symbolic of serenity, purity and clarity of thought. Water is crucial for life... without it all life would wither and die. Water can be soothing, inspiring and rejuvenating to the mind, body and spirit. It can also be powerful and even destructive. Water is in many ways symbolic of life and our experience of it.
Guidelines on how to use this video for meditation:
Make yourself comfortable in a quiet room and try and free your mind of outside distractions and worries. Begin by breathing in deeply and slowly, imagining the troubles of life flowing in... and out... in... out... and away.
Instead of fighting against what life is throwing at you, imagine you're like the smooth rocks and boulders in the stream, allowing the water to easily slip over you. The flow of water has shaped them over millennia into the best possible form to be mostly unaffected by the current, both in calm and in flood.
Negative emotions like anger, jealousy, fear, hatred and regret make us obstacles in the flow of life that need to be smoothed off in order to find peace. Imagine while you're watching this video that all of these imperfections that are preventing you from experiencing true peace and happiness are being smoothed away.
Imagine that you can feel the cool, silky water flowing all around you. Listen to the sounds of nature and flowing water. Become part of the scene and experience the rhythm and flow of life without being an obstacle in it's path.
I really hope this video helps you connect a bit with your true self and with nature. It's all too easy to get caught up in the daily grind of life and never take the time to reflect. Please let me know in the comments if this video helps you. If it does, please consider sharing it with others you know who may need a moment of calm in their stressful lives. What better gift is there to share than peace? :)

Jonathan :)Sleep video - soothing sounds of gentle rain 10 hours - beach house view at night - HD 1080PPeaceful Scenes2015-07-05 | 10 hr sleep/relaxation video - rain trickling down a beach house window at night with passing ocean waves in the background. High quality rain sounds on a cabin roof... Many people find that they fall asleep a lot more easily when they listen to soothing background sounds such as rain. Many also report that they sleep more deeply and experience a greater quality of restful sleep. The sound of rain seems to trigger feelings of relief, contentment and comfort.
This experience appears to be common to nearly all people and can be induced by listening to recorded rain sounds. This works very well to help us relax, concentrate better or sleep.
I created this video with the idea that it could be watched for a while with the lights off while you're settled in bed and ready to doze off. The scene through the window is quite dim so won't hurt your eyes and the passing waves and occasional trickle of rain on the window is quite mesmerizing. I've also ensured that the scene is unchanging in terms of lighting and that the rain sound fluctuates gradually without sudden noises that could disturb your sleep.
Setting the volume to the right level is key for this to work. Adjust it down to a level that you feel comfortable with. I always find that my hearing becomes more acute when I settle down to sleep and prefer that the video volume is subtle.
My family and I have tested the video over the past few weeks and it really is effective. my wife and daughter both report sleeping more deeply and wake up refreshed after a good nights sleep as do I.
I really hope other people have the same experience & that it helps those who struggle to fall asleep. I would really appreciate your feedback and welcome suggestions and requests.

On the day I filmed this, the waves were peaking at between 20 & 30 foot (6 - 9 meters) which made for a very dramatic scene of crashing and tumbling water with swirling spray... wave watching heaven! :)

Tags: Huge waves, rough sea, rough surf, western cape coast, stormy ocean, big waves cape, storm, June 2015 South Africa1 hour relaxing nature scene - ocean bird symphony - HD 1080PPeaceful Scenes2015-05-13 | Relax with nature and enjoy this coastal scene featuring thousands of ocean birds flying constantly by and lending their calls to what I call an ocean symphony of hissing waves, gentle breeze through the bright coastal flowers and sounds of the nesting sites to the left of screen. Most of the birds seen flying by and resting on the rocks to the left are cormorants but there are many other birds which can be seen and heard passing during the video.
This was filmed in a coastal nature reserve in Betty's Bay, South Africa which is a vital sanctuary for many threatened coastal bird species including African rockhopper penguins and black oyster catchers. Unfortunately there are no penguins in the video as they are found in a different part of the reserve, but I plan to make a video including them at a later stage.

I certainly wouldn't want to fall in there on a day like this!
On the day I filmed this, the swell was peaking at 12 to 15 foot (3.5 - 4.5 meters) turning the scene below into a giant boiling cauldron of white water at times.
Just a quick note on the color of the foam for those who are not familiar with different types of sea foam. This video was shot in a pristine marine nature reserve with excellent water quality. The type of foam produced by diatoms is usually cream to caramel in color and in this area is due to the up-welling of nutrients after prolonged windy conditions when their populations thrive. It's because of the up-welling of nutrients and resulting phytoplankton blooms that the sea is able to support so much life and is therefore a sign of a healthy and productive ocean. Foam is produced when the phytoplankton are torn apart by the crashing waves and their spilled cell contents acts like soap, trapping air as it's churned up in the surf.

Take a deep breath, settle down in your favourite armchair with a cuppa coffee or tea and absorb the beauty and peace that only unspoiled nature can provide. Peaceful ocean scenes and relaxing nature videos like this one can help reduce stress as you unwind from a hectic day. This video has great stereo sound. Try watching with earphones if you don't have good speakers.
I filmed this scene at sunrise. The sun rises from behind the mountains, and the cliffs and sea are softly lit. As the video progresses, the whole scene starts to brighten and glow in the morning light.
I really love the sound of the waves breaking and washing over and between the boulders. Every now and then you can hear the smaller rocks and pebbles tinkle and rustle as they knock together. After a while as the area starts to warm up, you begin to hear the insects waking up to start their day.
There are a few sea birds that fly past and you will hear some that live in the vicinity as well if you listen carefully.
Something I really love about this little bay is that the swell looks almost drunk as it swaggers slowly in from left to right... washes lazily up the cliff to the right and slides left, only to change direction again towards the shore, collapsing in a mess between the rocks. :) The reason it does this is that the swell comes in at a diagonal from the South West and zig-zags between the cliffs on either side of the cove. You will notice this quite often throughout the video.
I filmed this near Cape Town, South Africa along a beautiful and dramatic stretch of coastline within a marine and mountain reserve.

If you're struggling with insomnia you should really try listening to this video when you go to bed. It will help to watch for a while until you are sleepy (video is dark, so won't hurt your eyes) and let it continue playing as you drift off to sleep. The looping 1 minute wave set has a calming sleep inducing effect when you watch it... like counting sheep i guess :) Likewise, the repeating and predictable sequence of collapsing wave sounds also works like a lullaby.
Setting the volume to the right level is key for this to work. Adjust it down to a level that you feel comfortable with. I always find that my hearing becomes more acute when I settle down to sleep and prefer that the video volume is subtle.
** NB! If you're falling asleep to this video or any other make sure you disable autoplay (above suggested videos top right of screen) by clicking on the blue tick symbol or you could wake up with a jolt as the next video in YT's list starts or an advert plays before it. **
I hope this works for you! Let me know if it does please. I would really love some feedback on this as it's an idea I came up with based on some research I looked into and I haven't seen sleep videos done in this way yet.

The power of a rough and stormy sea is incredible to watch and listen to as massive waves crack like thunder, collapse and crash into the side of the mountains sending spray high above the cliff ridges.
Further down the coast as well as behind where I was positioned, the mountainside was hammered as far as the eye could see, with white water exploding skywards and raining down over the vegetation.
I had a bit of fun with the title in the video "Africa Under Siege" because at times it really seems like the sea is preparing to launch an invasion as it scales the fortress-like cliffs. :)

On the day I filmed this, the swell was peaking at 15 to 20 foot (4-5 meters) which made for some spectacular waves crashing against the rocks. To give you an idea of scale; the rocks on the other side of the frame are about 20 feet (6m) high.

For anyone who needs to get away from it all and unwind for an hour, this is THE place to be. Hope you enjoy the ocean wave sounds and serene setting as much as I did. Close your eyes for a bit and breath deeply, imagining the gentle cool sea breeze and glowing sand warming up as the sun rises behind you.

Most of the video has strong wind with gusts of around 80km per hour at times. I like how the wind almost completely vaporizes the waves as they are torn apart when really gusting.
You will see a few water spouts (mini twisters i suppose... don't know how else to describe them) out at sea in parts of the video... look out for these.
For those of you who like a bit of wild wind and water, you should enjoy this.

The only trace of human presence is 2 surfers that come out of the sea and walk towards the main beach. This is a well known surfing spot for the more adventurous local surfers and swell can get huge and quite dangerous. Also known for the great white sharks that frequent the waters of False Bay. There is actually a permanent shark spotter on the cliffs above this surf spot keeping an eye on the waves below in order to warn anyone brave enough to be down there. This beach is an awesome place to be and is within the Kogelberg Biosphere reserve, with an incredible diversity of plant life surrounding it.
You won't hear any unnatural sounds - only the hiss of broken waves and a bit of a breeze at times. The gentle and soothing hissing sound that dominates the video is from the billions of bubbles rising after each wave passes.
Look out for the interesting patches that form on the mountains as clouds pass in front of the sun. This is about a third of the way through the video.
